Lectures and Gallery Tours

Jane has taught Art and Design and lectured in local and national galleries for many years now.  She can offer tailor made gallery tours for you and your group.  Please see below for examples of popular tours she can offer:

 

Tour One

A General Introduction at The National Gallery, Tate Britain or Tate Modern. - take a tours of around 4 to 5 pieces of art work.  Learn about them and discuss.  Groups of up to 20 adults for one hour. 

 

Tour Two

Still Life painting at The National Gallery - take a tour of beautiful still life painting from the earliest examples which formed part of religious painting through to the Dutch Masters and Van Gogh.  Groups of up to 20 adults for one hour. 

 

Tour Three

Victorian Art and Design - At the V and A Museum, London.  Enjoy a detailed look at Victorian Art and Design, learn about the social changes of the time. Groups of up to 20 adults for one hour.  

 

Tour Four

Myths and Legends- The National Gallery, London  A tour for 10 to 12 children and accompanying adults (2 children per adult please)  One hour of fun, learning and activities.  Perfect for a birthday treat or special trip to London.  Longer sessions available also on request.  

 

Tour Five

Character and Charisma - The National Portrait Gallery, London  A tour for either adults or children.  (20 adults maximum and 10 to 12 children with accompanying adults as above) 

 

Tour Six

Delve into Contemporary Art at Tate Britain or Tate Modern.  Enjoy seeing contemporary art works, learning through discussion and activities. This tour can be adapted for adults or children. (20 adults maximum or 10 to 12 children with accompanying adults as above)  

 

Prices There is normally a charge of £100- £125 per hour but an fee will be arranged and agreed with you according to the dates, numbers attending and gallery requested.  Jane will aim to give you and your group the very best visit and the benefit of her extensive knowledge and experience.

 

These are some suggestions which can be adapted to suit your group or if you have your own request please drop Jane a line and she will be in touch to discuss your plan.  Bookings at national galleries need to be made in advance so be prepared and plan ahead.  Tours can be lengthened on request also to an hour and a half or two hours for extra activities.   All fees must be paid in advance please.
